For crimes to be displayed on your neighborhood map, we require crime data from your local law enforcement agency. If you would like to be notified when CrimeWhere is available in your neighborhood, search for your location, click the link in the lower left corner, and send us your email address.
All internet connected devices support the use of CrimeWhere, including desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. A resolution of 600x600 or higher is recommended.
Using the map
CrimeWhere displays public information about crimes occurring in a given city on Google Maps. Many of the same Google Maps functions such as scrolling to zoom or searching for landmarks are included. Click on a crime marker to see more information about the crime. Two or more incidents that occurred in the same place will be grouped into a numbered crime marker. Click on the marker to see information about each incident. Large numbered circles are shown at higher zoom levels to indicate multiple crimes in that area. Click on any numbered circle to zoom to the individual incidents included in that area.
Click on Search Crimes, enter an address, city, or landmark in the search box and hit Enter on your keyboard. Or just click on an auto-populated search result.
Simply click the plus or minus buttons on the right. Numbered markers are shown at the highest zoom levels to indicate multiple crimes in that area. Zooming in will display the individual crime markers for those incidents.

- Enter your email address or cell phone number
- Select the desired coverage area with Alert radius slider
- Select crime types
- Indicate how often you want to be alerted. You can also name the alert. Then click Sign up

The alert radius allows you to select the area included in your crime alerts. The alert radius spreads out in a perfect circle from the last location searched in the Search panel. The radius can spread from .5 to 5 miles. For example if your radius is 1 mile, your alert will include all crimes occurring within 1 mile of the center point. Once the map is centered on the correct location, drag the slider to select the radius around the center point for which you wish to receive alerts.
PredPol will not share your email address or any personal information with any third parties.
You can stop receiving crime alerts at any time by clicking on the Unsubscribe button at the bottom of a crime alert.
